How Do You Choose Food Grade Greased Paper?

In daily life, we often use greaseproof paper, translucent paper, silicone oil paper, and tin foil. What is the difference between them? The ice cream cup supplier will introduce to you:

Grease-proof paper: broadly refers to paper that can prevent the absorption and penetration of grease.

In a narrow sense, it refers to a type of paper made by using bleached, semi-bleached or unbleached chemical wood pulp and processed with high beating degree; it also includes those produced by adding an oil-repellent in the pulp or coating the surface with an oil-repellent that can resist oil penetration and absorption paper.

This kind of greaseproof sandwich paper has the luster of grease-free paper, and is widely used in the packaging of oily foods such as hamburgers, baked breads, and biscuits.

Translucent paper: also known as waxy paper, the surface is calendered, showing a shiny luster, light, thin, and beautiful. It is a thin oil-proof wrapping paper, mostly flat paper. The basis weight is 22-43g per square meter, colorless or dyed in various colors; the paper is firm, smooth, delicate and soft, shiny, translucent (transparency 70-80%), with good oil resistance and airtightness . Mainly used for outer packaging and lining materials of precision instruments, instrument parts, silk fabrics, medical supplies, candy, tobacco and alcohol, pastries, pastries and other commodities.

The biggest difference from greaseproof paper is that there is no greaseproof paper to resist oil, and the water resistance is worse.

It is best not to be used for baking, it will turn yellow, black, and smoke in severe cases.

Silicone oil paper: also called release paper or release paper. It is based on translucent paper or greaseproof paper. One or both sides are siliconized paper. It has a three-layer structure of base paper, coated film and silicone oil. In the middle; the silicon is applied for isolation. Divided into two kinds of ordinary grade and food grade.

Food-grade silicone oil paper, also called barbecue paper, baking paper, and silicone-coated paper, is a high-temperature baking paper formed by using glassine as the base paper and coated with food-grade silicone oil on the basis of translucent paper or greaseproof paper.

Food-grade silicone oil paper has the advantages of high temperature resistance, moisture resistance, and oil resistance. The peeling degree is particularly good, and food is not easy to stick to the paper.

Tin foil: actually aluminum foil paper, also known as aluminum foil, is a thin sheet with a thickness of less than 0.2mm, which is processed by an aluminum foil rolling mill. It is mainly used for cooking in the kitchen, holding food or making some simple and clean materials.

The main feature is good thermal conductivity and airtightness.

Selection suggestion

1. When making cake rolls, it is best to choose silicone oil paper. One is that it is placed on the baking tray, which is easy to demould the cake; the other is that the greased paper is soft, which is convenient to roll the cake with a rolling pin; the material of tin foil is hard and it is not easy to operate.

2. Because tin foil cannot be microwaved, silicone oil paper must be used in microwave applications.

3. When making pasta such as steamed buns and steamed buns, you can use silicone oil paper pad steamer for anti-sticking effect.

4. When baking biscuits, bread and small snacks, put them on the baking tray to prevent adhesion and easy to clean the baking tray. Both can be selected. It is best to choose silicone oil paper, which is cheap and light.

5. When baking cakes and toasts, it is convenient to demold. It is best to put silicone oil paper on the bottom of the mold and cover it with tin foil during baking to prevent the surface from being too darkly colored. It can also spread the heat radiation on the surface of the cake to reduce surface cracking.

6. When roasting meat or vegetables, it is best to wrap the food with tin foil, which can lock the moisture well and make the food more tender.

7. Tin foil can wrap the movable bottom mold into a solid bottom mold, which can solve the problem that the movable bottom mold cannot be baked in a water bath.

A piece of silicone oil paper can be used repeatedly 2-3 times. If the oil paper changes color or sticks to a lot of residue, it should be replaced.

Tin foil is usually used once.

When buying silicone oil paper, first check whether the product packaging has the QS mark to ensure that it is food grade.

It is best to choose double-sided, white silicone oil paper for home use.
