Introduce the Basic Terminology of Disposable Cups

Kraft paper bag supplier shares this article for you.

Biodegradable-Biodegradable products can be naturally broken down by microorganisms such as bacteria or fungi, and then absorbed back into the ecosystem. These products are mainly composed of natural ingredients and are generally regarded as "green" or "eco-friendly" products.

Compostable-When an item is put into a composition of degradable and biodegradable materials and finally becomes a nutrient-rich material, it is considered compostable. Compostable products decompose and decay at the same rate as paper and do not release harmful toxins, making them a "green" choice for your business.

Degradable-Degradable products are petroleum-based products and will not decompose naturally like biodegradable items. Rather, degradable products decompose through chemical reactions in an anaerobic environment. Their decomposition will produce water, carbon dioxide, biomass or trace elements.

PET-PET stands for polyethylene terephthalate. It is part of the polyester series and is used to make synthetic fibers and food and beverage containers. PET plastic cups are lightweight and good at blocking gases, solvents and moisture. They are also strong and impact resistant. Products made of PET can also be recycled.

Multilayer coating-The term "multilayer coating" refers to a material that has been coated with polyethylene. Poly-coated materials are more stable, smooth and moisture resistant than non-coated materials, and usually have single or double layers of polyethylene, depending on the quality and durability required.

Post-consumer recyclable content-Post-consumer recyclable content is the material that has been used and discarded by consumers, and then saved and turned into a brand new product. After the original product completes its life cycle as a consumer product, it will be recycled and made into another product, such as paper or plastic cups.

Recyclable-Recyclable simply means that the product can be reused and made into other new products. In order to identify recyclable products, the packaging should be marked with general recycling signs/symbols. Seven resin identification codes can also be found on recyclable plastic packaging. These codes refer to the type of plastic used in the packaging. These codes can then be referenced against the recyclable codes of your local authority/council.

Wax coating-Wax coated products have a leak-proof wax coating, similar to multi-layer coated products, with enhanced strength and firmness. These products are often sprayed with wax on all sides and are particularly effective in cold applications.
